Rules edit new transactions for you

A rule watches transactions as they sync and applies your changes automatically. If you keep making the same fix by hand — recategorizing a merchant, tagging a bill — a rule does it for you from then on.

What a rule can match on

Any combination of merchant, category, account, amount, and keyword. For example: merchant contains "Netflix", or amount is exactly $9.99 in a specific checking account.

What a rule can do

Set the category, rename the merchant, add tags, set the budget impact, mark the review status, or assign to a savings goal.

Managing rules

Rules live in SettingsRules. They run in order from top to bottom — drag to reorder when two rules could match the same transaction and you want one to win. Edit or delete a rule anytime; rules apply to transactions that arrive after the rule exists.
